In this program, students will learn how applications interface with the Oracle database and how to help troubleshoot problems arising in the installation and operation of applications. You will learn about the Oracle database architecture and how its components work and interact with one another. You will also learn how to properly manage the various structures in an effective and efficient manner including performance monitoring, database security, user management, and backup/recovery techniques.
Students will also learn Oracle database architectures, Manage space, automatic storage management solutions, Monitor and manage major database components, secure availability of database, configuring a database for recoverability, to meet backup specifications, and to perform user-managed backup and recovery. Additionally, students will use Oracles Recovery Manager (RMAN) for performing for multiple database administration tasks, Diagnose and repair data failures and Automate DBA tasks with the Scheduler.
Hands-on exercises reinforce the material covered.
There are no prerequisites for this class. However, the basic knowledge of Operating System, relational databases, and database design would be helpful.
